It would improve the usability of HN2 tremendously if it received and transmitted MIDI messages F8,FA,FB and FC - clock, start, continue and stop.
I would like to use HN2 to generate a simple sequence of chords to drive arpeggiators in other devices. If I could synchronise HN2 to the devices as I can with Cubase or the devices (KORG microKorg XL and microSTATION) it would make it a lot easier to get the timing right.

Yes, if HN could send midi clock I would be very happy! I prefer to use drum machines inside my host when finding chord progressions.

I totally agree. It would be nice sync HN with other sequencers using MIDI or REWIRE

+1
absolutely we need a solution for synchronisation (rewire or mtc-spp)
for the better usability and exact control of vst midi plugins and host's midi manipulation tools..
it must be!
also must send play-stop and song position :
in the "Progression Window"
during recording and editing the progressions with chords only mode ,
i mean time codes yes! but not only for arrange-song window it must be for the progression window too.
as i tried ..... in progression window ( rewire , mtc , spp all the same ) also synfire doesn't send too.
fingers crossed for the fast reply + solution
this become my #1 request right now.
apologies for poor English

Absolutely agree.
Our 10 year old roland VMC digital mixing desk synchs, starts, stops in and out of record with Cubase as and as required.
So does our 10 year old Sonic Core/creamware/Pulsar 15 DSP soundcards through it's own internal softwire patchbay.
So does our 3 year old Novation ZERO SL Automap hardware controller.
There is no reason at all why HN cannot stop and start on time with other integrated midi software, unless maybe they don't want it to...?

Sending start/stop commands is not a problem. The challenge is to have both standalone programs (HN and DAW) run exactly in sync once they have started. Synfire does this via ReWire, but it is a bit fiddly to initially setup, because one needs to manually approximate the latency between both apps. We thought this was overkill for HN, but will reconsider it.
