I'm using a Tyros 4 which makes use of XGmidi and their own Art2 and Mega voices. (These use velocity, notes in 6th - 8th octave to trigger effx. (glides, guitar scrapes, harmonics etc.
I am starting a project with Tyros then importing MIDI file into Synfire. I use static import for the Mega tracks (Guitar w/effects), However Synfsfire still seems to 'transpose' it, thus I loose the effects. I tried seperating the the original MIDI file into two tracks, one for proper MIDI notes, and 2nd track for the 'artifact notes Octyave 6 - 8).
Am I missing something, or does Synfire reject MIDI notes in such a high octave range?
Thanx.

These effects keys are what is called Articulations in Synfire. It would make sense to define these for the Tyros device description, or the individual sounds they apply to.
Your should remove these before import. Synfire will interpret them as regular musical expressions, corrupting the harmonic analysis.
With "static" import, should actually not see any transposition, but, if I remember correctly, Synfire might do a transposition when the overall pitch range violates the physical capability of the instrument you import for. Solution: Set the playing ranges of the instrument to full MIDI scale (0..127).
