Please tell me what automations are possible in SFP?
Is it possible to automate VSTi parameters ?

Only if you map them to MIDI CC in the VSTi.
Synfire could provide automation parameters, but since these can not be exported with midi files they would be lost when you move the project to a DAW. Each DAW stores automation lanes in their own proprietary format.
You can use automation parameters in the DAW with the drone.

Yes. But losing all your work at the end of the day because it can not be exported is not an option.
Fortunately most compositional work can be accomplished without parameter automation. It is rather used for mixing and filter sweeps and such.

Yes if SFP can be a composingtool for electronic music music ..why not ?
If someone loads the same private plugin in SFP ( in DAWS you get a message when it not finds the VSTi plugin when you load the composition) , than you can stay in SFP and listen to the result with the autoamation data
Composing happens in SFP
