Can i start the chord progression on any measure ? .because i like to start the progression on measure 9 for example --> NO it is not possible
I can extend the chord progression to the right .. i do need a handle for the left side of the progression too ..than i can start the progression on measure 9 for example
This should be a very good improvement for Synfire P/E --> choosing in the arrangement where the chordprogression can start .. on this way you can composing from textexamples ( and use this in a library) on the not chord progression measures.
Maybe better is to have the possibility to add empty chords to the progression..for these measures there is no chords and interpretation ..and i can fill in any key(scale) arrangment.
I ask for a new empty chord feature in SFP/E on the palette for bypassing chords and interpretation parameter
I drop this empty chord on the progression where i do want compose with bypassing the musical AI from Synfire

If you want a progression to start on measure 9, create a new container that starts on measure 9 and put the progression in that container.
If you want total control over the pitch of some notes and phrases bypassing all of synfires magic, set those figures to static?
Also the chords in the chord progression part don't actually play anything they just influence certain figure types. So I would leave the progression as 9 measures of c (or whatever your key is) then follow with the progression you want. In the instruments figures switch to static for the first 9 figures. Better yet is to split that into two containers.

Hi Blacksun,
If you want a progression to start on measure 9, create a new container that starts on measure 9 and put the progression in that container.
Yes ofcourse..a harmony container .. the last time am working with a fixed harmony container.. so i forget this important feature
Static symbols... i just did it with ascale board .. why not
Thanks for your thoughts about this!.. i must experiment further

Empty chords are impossible:
Solution: Lengthen the first chord until measure 9 and simply do not make any figures starte before measure 9.

I must say i never understood how it was possible to have different harmony containers ?
Suppose i made a arrangment with some chords in a phrase, based on a given progression
( the chords are hardcoded iin the phrase )
Than you replace the existing chordprogression container with a progression container what has no chords in common with the original progression ..than Synfires comes up with a fitting progression ?
THAT'S REALLY MAGIC !

The whole discussion for me here is now that on the positions of the empty chords, i do want have static phrases ( no chords and no interpretation = bypass ) in any key( scale) and for at least one measure.
That's why i call it : NEW.. empty chord feature ( using static phrases in the progression )
Example:
measure 1 static : A minor scale
measure 2 static: whole tone scale
measure3, ..... and so on
First 8 measures : static arrangment
Say on measure 9 start the normal chordprogression and interpretation
I try also to find out how i to use scales for the static phrases and the use of the scaleboard ?
