It would be helpful to have a MUTE CONTAINER command, and also a MUTE NOTES on an intrument track. This would allow one to track down quickly where a problem lies, or try an alternate idea, without actually committing to it..

Hi All
Markstyles;i am amazed with you;we have telepathy, right now i thought of asking the same suggestion without knowing that you had written today,is a curious coincidence.
Yes,it would be fantastic to have a mute tool without need to automating the notes with the volume,is very bored.
One tool if was selected with one clic over a note (s), container they were muted and with another clic unmuted.
It would be simpler.
I love Synfire Pro :)

Andre and Supertonic may be gods ... but Mark is Moses leading us out of the wilderness.
I haven't even demoed SFE yet, but I can see how incredibly helpful this would be!

I remember that we had the 'mute discussion' already in an earlier thread, but anyway:
+1 for the 'Mute Container' command (whereas I mean by a muted container not a container that produces silence but a container that behaves as if it were not there).
For the usual muting of notes or of entire phrases there is already the 'Pause' parameter.

Hi All
Excuse my ignorance but i select a container and striking the keys +1 in my mackbookpro and nothing happens?
Juergen,i have seen the pause parameter and is the same as volume, need draw like automating,i think it would be easier with select the parameter and first click over note(s) mute and second clic unmuted.Sure will be difficult to program this feature.Or maybe is possible with Pause parameter and i don,t know how to do this without drawing,by clicking.
Best Wishes :)

Sorry that I have to disappoint you but pressing the keys +1 does not mute anything. With '+1' I just wanted to express that I agree with the request for a mute container feature ;)
Yes, the Pause parameter does not exactly what you expect, you need to draw it. But i find it very useful. I often just store a Pause vector in a separate container and then move around with that container in the arrangement and listen what effect it has at different positions.

Muting from the container section would be faster, othewise you must open the container and pause all instruments in it. It would be a real drag if you already had paused instruments (trying a new idea). You would not remember all these details..
Also in the instrument track itself; mute would be helpful, you could temporarily mute a few notes, and drag another phrase over it, to test. I do this in Logic all the time. I mute a phrase, move it up an octave, and put another phrase, or modify the phrase (re-arrange the notes). I also use the muted notes, sometimes so that I can hand line up notes to the previous rhythm . (Quantize to a Logic phrase would be to blunt an instrument to use for only a section of the instrument part).
