Hi.
Here is a cut from the Bitwig manual describing clip play modes.
Hopefully something along these lines is in store for Synfire snippets somewhere up the road.
Getting past snippets always having to play from their beginning definitely would open up some very nice musical possibilities.

But yes, something like this would make sense. Internally this is a very hard challenge though.
Ableton and BitWig run static content that can be split anywhere. Splitting a Figure is based on segment anchors and segments are rendered as an indivisible unit. Obviously, you can't alter the past, so any pickups or overlaps into the past will be truncated.
If you convert the session to an arrangement, it will sound much different.
