Asked before, but forgot the answer..

I've imported a midi file of a song, and then imported an organ track from another completely different song.. I analyzed the added organ track and put interpretation to voice leading - scope chords only; stratagy adaptive (dynamic) and checked cooperative..  This works sort of ok but still a lot of jarring notes..

I re-analyzed the organ track to be monophic, it works in some places and is plainly sour in others..

I however also used the step command and pause command to 'mix it up..  Is there an easy way to re-calculate the organ track so that they are paused and stepped properly, and show up as sounded..

I can convert the whole piece to a sketch, and then covert back to an arrangement. I was just wondering if there was a better way.. I'm of the school, when you find something you like print it, or make it permanent.  Too many floating processes in SFP make it really hard to get into the nitty gritty and start editing individual notes..  I often leave the flaws in, and correct them when ported over to Logic..

But I want to gain the upper hand with SFP, it's bullied me long enougn. I have to bend to it's will, it is not going to bend to mine..

Thanx..

There are three possible sources that could be responsible for dissonant notes:

  1. Harmony: Check that your chords sound ok with "Probe" (i.e. chords-only playback). Let  Synfire re-estimate the keys and scales. This will smooth out the transitions. Try the three scale selection preferences "Traditional", "Alternative" and "Strict", if they make a difference (need to press "Apply").
  2. Figure: Be sure there are no static (brown) symbols in it. Check the grouping of segments. Avoid isolated single symbols that actually belong to a melodic run. Group them.
  3. Interpretation: Pick one of the presets that best matches your instrument.
