I want to make a phrase pools out of the embedded library: it is loaded now 5 phrase collections and among these is also the default "Example phrases" included in Synfire.
None of them have a phrase pool attached to them.
Can i make out of the Example phrase ..pools ..i like to have of the example phrases more sub phrases--> a pool
How to make this out of the existing embedded library ?
Importing a midi can extract a phrase pool(s), but when this is not done by selecting this in the import screen.
It seems there are phrases with/ without connected with a phrasepool
I do want to have to possibility to make out of the embedded library always phrase pools... do i miss something ?

Drag additional phrases to the phrases tab of the embedded library.
Use the options menu above the embedded library and open a copy of it in a stand alone library window.
Open the other files with the library editor.

Thanks Supertonic, Go to the library editor .., but still the default "example phrases" are in the library editor not broken down in snippets.
I do want to use the default example phrases ( or another phrases in case i did not choose the option to create a pool out of the imported midi ).
It should be handy if there is magic button in the embedded library what converts the phrase in pool snippets ;).

The example phrases are short, dont have multiple phrase snippets. You can split any phrase with auto-split from the phrase menu.

I assume there is a algorhithm for making phrase snippets out of phrases during midi import ..why can use this not for the embedded library and let the software determine if there are meaningful snippets ?
Auto- split is this based solely on splitting and not on musical meaning ?

Janamdo,
you have a better ear than synfire and will make a better job.

you are sure about this command : auto-split that it applicable for all phrases ?
I did a quick test with the default example phrases and made acopy of the embedded library, but nothing happens ?
Note: in the English manual there is at the headcorner of the page : Kapitel ---> is for the German version..
It seems that i must must do something "manual"in the phrasepool editor to get phrase snippets if i cannot import a midi?
Example for the default Example phrases i keep them in Cmaj ..so i must harmonise a whole default example phrase in C--in what key are the imported midi when the option create pools is on ?..no quick snippets in a pool.
Can i feed the Example phrase library as midi import ?
Quote: to produce a figure from Rraw MIDI notes (imported or recorded take ) .. as tab 1.Edit phrase --> should it not be better to name this: 1. Edit imported or recorded take? and tab 2 Harmonize Take and 3 Recognize Figure from Take , etc.
I lost oversight here ...

You can split snippets off a phrase with the span tool and CTRL-E in the library editor.
The examples are too short for dividing them into snippets.

Thanks
The examples are too short for dividing them into snippets.
In that case i leave the example phrase as they are.. i can't see at forehand if phrases are suitable for a phrase pool
But some 8 bar piano example phrases seems to me a candidate for swimming in the pool ;)
