Chords.... how too draw them

Hi Derik, do you mean chords in a progression or chord symbols in a figure?

(I assume you mean the figure) click once to add the first symbol, then hold down the ctrl key to extend the segment in vertical direction.

The arpeggiator symbols are drawn just like all others.

The only difference is how they are interpreted by Synfire. Each horizontal line stands for one note in the current chord: 0, 1, 2, 3 ... where zero is the bottom note. The inversion is determined automatically depending on the playing range of the instrument.

I'm not sure why but when I click and then hold down command (propellor on Mac) and click again the added segments are anchors instead of "green" symbols.

I updated the software recently. Is this a change that was made to the way segments are extended? I have looked through the manual, forums and change notes but can't find anything. My software doesn't seem to behave the way the above video shows. I'm using the Drawing Lines tool with the chords symbol chosen.

Any ideas?

In addition to holding the command key, you need to draw a line starting from an existing symbol (or at least very close to it). It does not seem to work with single clicks anymore.

EDIT: This is a bug. The tolerance for hit detection is way to narrow in this case.

That fixed it. Thank you very much! It's such a small thing but was tripping me up.

Just to be clear for other readers:

to add a figure - click and drag with line drawing tool. this creates an "grey" anchor symbol and one "green" symbol - a two note chord.

to then add another symbol to that same figure (i.e. to make a three note chord instead of a two note chord) you need to hold down command/ctrl, click on the figure's anchor and drag again. Where you stop dragging is where the additional symbol gets created.
