Chords Only help

When I put it in the chords only mode how do I set it up so it plays a piano instead of these long legato strings

Hi dopebeats! Welcome to the forum.

Select a different sound for the global instrument that is used for "Chords":

  1. Open Audio & MIDI Setup window from the Playback menu
  2. Visit the Global Instruments tab
  3. Browse for a different sound for the "Chords" instrument

Likewise you can change the sounds for bass and melody (= "Generic")

There are a number of global instruments used for different purposes. You can change their sounds (see image). The "Generic" instruments is a general purpose sound, usually the melody.
