Groove Agent 5 Won't Scan

Posted

Hi,

My current experience is that Groove Agent 5 will not scan in Synfire.

Does anyone else see the same, or different?

I wonder if anything can be done about it?

FWIW, Groove Agent 5 will scan, open, and operate in Bitwig 6.

That might be an issue with an incomplete VST3 manifest. How many audio inputs and outputs does the plug-in have?

Hi.

AI says:

Groove Agent 5 supports up to 16 stereo outputs, which function as 32 mono outputs when configured that way. This is documented in Steinberg’s official Groove Agent 5 Operation Manual.

and I seem to confirm that:

I don't believe there are any audio inputs to Groove Agent 5 (but I'm not 100% sure about that.)

The max of 16 applies to what - ins, outs, sum of ins and outs?

Are you saying that Synfire's code could be adjusted to accept a higher number and that would fix it?

16 input channels is a limit for performance reasons. If a plug-in can't be configured for stereo I/O it is disabled in the plug-ins menu.

Groove Agent 5 SE can be loaded in Synfire 3.

OK, interesting, thanks!

I made a quick test and find that Groove Agent SE6 loads and seems to operate OK.

Of course, I'd like to be able to use the full version, Groove Agent 5.

Inputs and manifest have been mentioned above.   Does anyone know, is there a known difference between the full version and the SE version of Groove Agent wrt. those subjects?
