Hi all,
I've only been using a Demo of HN2 for a couple days. My problem is, if I play a C chord (C-E-G) in root position on my midi keyboard, HN2 plays it back to me as a 1st inversion (E-G-C). Its as if its automatically voicing chords to what it believes sounds best. Is their a way for me to play chords freely without the voicing being forcibly changed?
Please let me know if their is a way around this issue. Its a very powerfull bit of software and i'm likely to buy it after the demo expires.

Indeed. After the chord was recognized, HN2 renders it the way that best matches the instrumen't (middle) playing range. Your keyboard input is just feeding the harmonizer.
You can change the playing range and typical pitch of the global "Chords" instrument, or edit the inversion (bass) of each chord in the progression you recorded.
As a feature idea, it might make sense to preserve the bass note (inversion) played on the keyboard. The only issue I see with this is that forcing inversions can break the overall voice leading and lead to extreme pitch leaps between chords.
