now i have stand alone issues as well

Posted

now i cant even get the program to play chords as listed.
while using in stand alone mode.

hn2 will play the root position triad, but as soon as i change the bass setting and then put back on root position, it plays everything with second inversion.

ie. i choose root C it plays C with G in the bass
i choose first inv i plays the chord with g in bass still
i choose 2nd inv it plays second inverion (surprise)
i choose C/F it plays C/F finaly two chords that work!second inv and C/F i choose C/A it plays C/G with A

Make sure you turn on the "Inversions" switch for the Interpretation parameter, if you want Auto-Chords to disable the automatic voice leading (which automatically selects a chord inversion and voicing).

HN selects a suitable chord inversion automatically by default, such that it fits in the physical (or desired) playing range of the instrument and smoothly merges with the previous chord (voice leading).

To override this default behavior, you can hold down the ALT key while playing a palette (see attached image), which will select the root position. There is currently no way to select the other inversions "live" in the palette, but you can select it in the progression editor.

We consider using the 1,2,3,4 keys to select inversions in a future update.

You should perhaps also turn off the "Force Root Position" switch when playing progressions in that mode.

The notepad is a very simple editor for capturing chord sequences only. Use the full featured progression editor instead, if you want to control inversions.

The Force Root Position item is gryed out when you are not in a palette window. It only has an effect when playing "live" chords in the palette.
