Play a melody

Posted
Hi everyone. I have a problem, maybe from newbie. I can't record a melody. When I go to registration, I don't register anything. I use a Nektar Panorame P6, Cantabile as host of VSt and Addictive as VST piano. As a sound card I have a Scarlett 2i4 focusrtite. My pc is windows 7-64, 8gb of ram. I tried to register both from the palettes window and from the first window, arrangement. I configured the midi input for the Panorama P6 keyboard and sometimes I hear the sounds, sometimes not. With Cantabile I pilot VST well, but with Sybfire I have problems. I don't understand if I'm wrong some configuration ...

I assume by 'register' you mean 'recording'. For recording to work, you need to make sure Synfire actually gets a connection to the MIDI interface. If there's another audio program running, the USB driver for the interface may already be blocked. You may need to quit other MIDI programs for the connection to be stable.

Once you have a stable connection, be sure to click on the instrument to make it receive input and MIDI-Through focus. Then all MIDI input should go to that instrument on recording.

Thanks Andrè for the reply.
Now I have only launched Synfire, I have disabled the "use audio engine for midi input" option. In the audio and midi window, when I press buttons on the Panorama P6 the red "MIDI input status" light comes on. In the "global instruments" window, when I press the keys, Synfire correctly recognizes which key was pressed. So the recognition of the MIDI input works. Now, in the "global Instrument" window I have loaded a vst, the addictive Keys Device, and it sounds. Good. I need to figure out how to record a short melody ...
