Play as sketch (Palette) - Doens't work when using plugins

Posted

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to get the playback in the palette tab to use my worksketch.

It only seems to work if I use built in sounds, whenever I create new instruments with VST plugins nothing is played back.

Thanks,

Niels

Here I am answering my own question again.

I never found a solution, but I managed to find a workaround.

I send my instrument to a midi channel (see screenshot). This channel is picked up by my DAW.

This way I can make a sketch and audition progressions with it live using a VST.

Look in the midi setup for racks and try to assign there a new rack to the palette (look also how the current palette is assigned with a rack?..to get a idea how all works )

The sound wizard is not for palette sound setup i think.

---------------------

i am now  on the global Instrument tab (adio&midi setup) and piano( for listening to chords in the palette) is default the soundcase FluidR3 inbuilt synt in Synfire.

Its global rack with a green sign(its working)(now the Soundcase FluidR3 rack) ... i push on wizard staff .. there you can choose : add a new rack module ..choose a plug- in with wanted sounds

The device description for the soundcase Fluidr3 shall be a GM device description , but for your own new rack you will be needed a device description for "fixed sounds"  ( not gm ) and then assign new sounds (16 max per rack)

Probably do you want to listen quick to the palette chords how they sounds with different instruments

When you select a container of an arrangement for real-time playback, Synfire creates a Sketch. That sketch needs to load the same plugins again, to ensure it still works after the arrangement is closed.

I couldn't reproduce your problem, unfortunately. Could it be there's a problem with loading the plug-ins a second time?

Thanks everyone for helping.

Seems the issue is resolved now.

I reinstalled the audio driver and everything is werking well.

Thanks!
