Synfire 3.0.6

Posted

This update includes important fixes and changes for articulations. They have been a bit finicky (is that a correct spelling?) so far, in that an articulation failed to be executed upon segment selection in the editor. That turned out to be a timing issue with event scheduling. You probably found that frustrating at times, as did I.

You can now set a negative delay per articulation (latency). This is to compensate for timing differences between percussive sounds and sounds with a slow attack (e.g. bowed strings). Previously saved latencies now default to zero. If you really need an articulation to be sent 1ms ahead of the first note, which is not technically necessary, there's a new checkbox for the device.

Feature Enhancements:
- Audio Engine 6.0.1
- Articulations: Art. latency is now a per-articulation negative delay
- Batch Import: Aggregate pools in a folder by signature, tempo, sound (new option)
- Import: Trim phrases to content (new option)

Resolved Bugs:
- Articulations: Timing issues when editing segments (articulation got lost)
- Folder Dialog: Choosing a folder on disk always canceled
- Import: Must not switch tabs when import has started
- Library: SMF batch import procedure had issues
- Device IDs must be limited to 120 characters
- Editing: Value range of background instrument must be considered for legend/grid
- Fixed a crash with sound wizard and playing ranges
- Launcher window's recent files list should refresh immediately
- Fixed several crashes as per submitted reports

Other Changes:
- Articulations: Key switch, CC transmission latency is now a device property
- Articulations: Remove sustained KS/CC switches (never used)
- Clearing a snippet group should not remove custom label and color
- Pool Cleanup: Harmony phrases should also remove any sound descriptors
- Better contrast for left side of help results
- Export settings should reveal Global tab on inspector by default
