I always had a penchant for driving beats with a grumbling energetic bass and spacious background atmos.
This reminds me of the circumstance that, because we are so focussed on the melodic and harmonic features of Synfire, many genres are still totally under represented. We could use a lot more examples with punch and energy.
I enjoy that kind of textural atomospheric music although I rarely compose it. My original idea for this was to use a pedal steel sound. Later I tried the ample sound telecaster after I generated a series of 8 bar piano phrases. I went back and used step and skip for bass. I used Scarbee pre bass amped with sonible EQ 3 and Compressor 2. The pad was from Nexus 3. Most of my SFP compositions are improvisational jazz fusion odyssey oriented. I have a few more compostiions with SFP 2.0 that I will share later. Very engergetic stuff. :)

What's the bass sound, btw?

Bought a Akai mpd226 pad controller for orchestral composing and use with the snippets.
It has 16 drum pads on it and 4 drum banks
When will it be possible in Synfire to connect the drum pads to the snippets matrix ?
