I have two Basis Sketches with 6 instruments. i want to make a 'hybrid' basis sketch out of the instruments from the two.
After I select the first Basis Sketch, HN2 will permit me to protect those instruments I want to keep and then select a new Basis Sketch and import it into the remaining available instrument slots.
But it doesn't let me choose which instruments to include in the selection.
Couldn't there be a dialog box that lets me specify which instruments in the second Basis Sketch to select?
I understand that midi channels, except possibly #10 for drums, are dynamically assigned, so I wouldn't think this would be an impediment.
This feature would greatly enhance the feature set and improve the workflow.

Check or uncheck the "Import" switch for the desired tracks.
You may need to uncheck one first to make room.

I'm not sure if I explained myself well enough. I am not talking about importing a new SMF. I am talking about getting an instrument from a second Basis Sketch.
I select one Basis Sketch from the drop down menu. It has 6 instruments.
I protect 4 I want to keep. I now select a second Basis Sketch from the drop down menu.
The dialog tells me all unprotected instruments will be replaced.
I say 'OK.'
The dialog tells me it couldn't import all instruments because there were not enough slots available.
It then imports what appears to be the first 4 instruments from the second selected Basis Sketch.
But! It does not give me a choice of which instruments from the second Basis Sketch I want to add to the 4 i protected.
This is where I want a selection dialog.
Am I clear?
Thanks.
