Hi all
I have discovered one interesting post in our forum titled Synthesized Vocal by Andre,in this post there is one comment (by Juergen) very good about the possibility to combine synfire with Pitchmap:
**** Vocaloid unfortunately can not be used in realtime like a VSTi.
Another interesting tool is Pitchmap: www.zynaptiq.com
It can transpose voices and instrument sounds from any audio mix according to MIDI input data in realtime.
Even polyphonic. This way the melody and harmony of vocals can be controlled directly by Synfire.
****
-Then it opens the possibility to control with the melody and harmony of synfire midi (in Realtime) the audio of pitchmap inserted into any daw as Ableton Live.
The tracks of audio of ableton (inserted pitchmap plugin them) would be like the tracks of midi in synfire, they follow in realtime the changes of harmony that you create in synfire. This is fascinating ¡¡¡ Audio and Midi are equally creative
-I have downloaded the demo version of pitchmap and i can not find the way,the setup that i have to make to connect,to control in realtime pitchmap plugin inserted in ableton live by synfire.
I have an intuition that is through IAC Bus Driver Port but i dont know how to do it.
What is the correct way, setup or method to do this powerful connection Synfire Pro - Pitchmap - Ableton ?
Thanks

Regarding Vocaloid, I have to correct myself. Meanwhile I found out that it CAN be used in realtime as a VSTi.
I could not test Pitchmap personally as it is currently only available as AU plugin for Mac (I'm on Windows). I had the tip from an earlier thread in this forum and I was greatly impressed by their demo videos. I'm waiting impatiently for a Windows version.

Try loading Pitchmap into a Drone in Ableton Live and test how it behaves. Make a device description for it and feed it with MIDI like any Synfire instrument.

Hi
Pitchmap looks very nice, but its not working on windows.
Another one that i would like to try is Instant Harmony V2.0
HOME
I think you can use it inside Synfire since it is a VSTi and in that way get audio inside Synfire standalone. You can then use Synfire to make the harmony of your vocals.

Hi All
Thanks to your answers and tips.
Supertonic;I do not know the reason but synfire pro not recognize Zynaptiq Pitchmap plugin.
I insert one au drone in ableton and i unfold the menu of load and in the Au instruments and effects of the drone does not appear Pitchmap anywhere.
Also (in Synfire) i open Audio & Midi setup window and left appears plu-gins on selected host, instruments au vst and effects au vst does not appear Pitchmap.
I suspect that synfire not recognized it because pitchmap is a demo, maybe, but Ableton live yes,it recognizes in his Au plugins.
I think the only option left for me to prove is by IAC Bus.
Rji,thanks to your advice about instant harmony;i will try it.
Best Wishes

Try rescanning all your plug-ins: (Audio & MIDI Setup) Host >> Scan Installed Plug-ins (Reset).

Hi All
Andre, thank you;now the Pitchmap plugin appears.
I open Ableton.I open Synfire Pro-New Arrangement-I draw a new figure or import a midi file-Sound-Type-Plugin-
Load Plugin-Effects:AudioUnit PitchMapAu Ok.
In Ableton i insert a drone in one track-In the menu load of the window of the drone appears Effects-AudioUnit Zynaptic and the name Pitchmap appears diffused, bright grey, not black.
In one track audio input i select transport 1/2 LR.
In Synfire pro,in container-time-sync-rewire transport sync.
In port node1 Engine:01Pitchmap the function relocate is not in black,is disabled.
I think this is because Pitchmap is an effect and only the instruments can be relocated?
Then I am completely lost.In the manual of pitchmap the way to work ableton with pitchmap is the following:
For Ableton Live Pro 8.x:
- You’ll need one audio track, one MIDI track and one Return bus - Insert PITCHMAP into the Return bus. - Place the audio to be processed on the audio track, set is output to “Sends Only”, and set the send feeding the bus that PITCHMAP resides on to unity gain.
- On the MIDI track, select your MIDI ins and set the “MIDI To” parameter to send to PITCHMAP. Set “Monitor” to “In”.
* Ok,in this way ableton and pitchmap works perfectly,i have tested it but i dont know how can i work with this combination:
Synfire triggering his melody, harmony midi, controlling pitchmap, the audio inserted in ableton.
SYNFIRE PRO - ABLETON LIVE - PITCHMAP
Is possible?
I'm going crazy,is very difficult !!! Please help me !!! my pitchmap demo is finishing and i want know if is possible to buy it?!!! jajaja
Thanks

You would need to insert a Drone instead of Pitchmap and have the Drone load Pitchmap inside.
I just tried this but Live didn't allow it, because "Drone" is an instrument, not an effect. I remember we were once trying to make the Drone an instrument AND effect at the same time, but unfortunately neither AU nor VST seem to support that.
The solution would be to build a second "Drone FX" plug-in that is an effect. However, due to the current workload here, this will not happen anytime soon. I'll put it on the agenda.

I am not very familiar with Live and effects. If you can find a way to route MIDI from a VST Drone to Pitchmap, that should work:
- Insert a VST Drone in Live
- Make its port a "MIDI Drone" in Synfire
- Create a simple device for it and use it as the "Instrument" to play Pitchmap in Synfire.
- Route MIDI output of Drone -> Pitchmap inside Live.

Double post. Almost same as Andre's last post. Set I up as if synfire wasn't there then put the drone as a midi drone on the midi track.

Hi All
A lot of thanks to all !!! With the help of all at the end I got it.
Andre, you are a genius.I am very very very happy and grateful to all: Juergen,Supertonic,RSJ,blacksun and Andre.
Here is the setup:
-I open Ableton Live - I open Synfire Pro - File New Arrangement - I call the instrument sheet Pitchmap in Instrument Label - I draw a figure or import a midi file
- In Ableton I create an audio track;Output : Transport 1/2 LR - Insert a cognitone Drone Vst in a new track.
- In Synfire Pro in Time, Sync rewire transport sync.
- In Pitchmap instrument properties in Type i choose plugin-port:Node1 Engine:01-emptyNewDevice1) i choose DAW1 Live:01empty - do you want to take over the port DAW1 Live:01 for exclusive use by this project? yes
Port I check the box Midi Drone (use drone as a midi proxy only without plugin)
Device Description: for example call "Synth" Category; /Synth Sound: Channel 1 Prog : none
- In Live insert pitchmap effect in a return track - Create a midi track: Midi from: cognitone drone vst - cognitone drone vst Midi To: A-pitchmapAU 1-PitchmapAU Monitor In
-Create a new audio track, insert an audio file Audio To: Sends only The send level A turned to its right (the maximum)
Again Thanks to All !!!!
