Chords Only won't disable -help

Hello,

I'm a one week old demo user. Currently there is one thing I am not solving...

I have one instrument with a fixed / repeated figure. I would like to have that figure playing while I sample various chords from the pallette. Additionally, I noticed that Chords Only mode won't turn off and I'm wondering if this might be related. If so how do I disable Chords Only?
