Duration lengths

Posted

See Duration Length - (http://www.box.net/shared/9lgydaarbg)

Here I have clicked on track 8 and clicked on 'Length' on the right hand side.  These green lines represent the length of each note, I assume. Then in measures 9 - 17 I also see lengths = there are no notes here, yet we still see the green lines.  Are these being read from and earlier container? I'm confused.

Is there a track global command to force legato (no overlaps).  I've spent quite a while trying fix the lengths, and it seems the job doesn't get done..  I guess I'm missing something here.

PS. I wish there was an index in the manual.  I remember reading something, and then I can't find it later.

Regarding this earlier post - I tried to link using the same method as I successfully did the day before. As you can see, it didn't link.  Sorry, please cut and paste, (unless Admin) wants to relink it.

I also DID NOT upload the 'chords.mid' file, even though it is a jpeg.  (Somebody's pointers are off - website host?).  This is the same picture that got accidently linked to my post a week ago.

I'm using Safari 5.0.3 on a MacPro 10.6.6  Are others with the same problems usiing Safari?   I'll post in Firefox.  Although yesterdays post and link came through fine - with no extrainous files attached.

The Length parameter is totally independent from a Figure. It basically works similar to an automation lane in a DAW. If you make a snapshot, you get a physical copy teh the Figure's note lengths. Then if you move it around, its values will no longer be in correspondence with the original figure symbols.

Yes indeed. The server rat again messed with file attachments. I am starting to get really worried about that. Again, please do not delete the files. I think I will be able to move them back to their original location.

No idea why the hyperlink is not recognized. This open source Drupal system does not seem to be as robust as many of its user claim.

Ah, and on a side note: I managed to catch the rat that was chewing our server cables  :yeah:

Those dangling attachments were remains of a previous state of the database that was used during development. I've deleted them. If I didn't miss something important, this confusing behavior should not happen anymore.
