Feedback from an early bird

Posted

So far my experience has been very positive. I've used the program a total of maybe 30-40 hours or so, and for the most part it is quite comfortable. And all of it fun. Mind you, there are still some quirks that need to be ironed out, but most of these are minor, and I've encountered no showstoppers.

I've been waiting for the buyer's remorse to set in, but fortunately after a month and a half it still hasn't. And I don't think it will. Yes, the price is quite high, but once you try it and get beyond the learning curve and become fully immersed, the price really seems quite fair.

And the learning curve really isn't so bad.

I am bursting at the seams with feedback and ideas... and I am hoping that Andre and team will set up a bug tracking system for us early birds. I would like a place to deposit and keep track of my feedback without having to pester and bombard the staff with customer-from-hell email messages every time something comes up... as much as I want to ;-)

(Why not use the forum for this? Well, it probably wouldn't be fair to post most of these to a public forum... at least until after the official release!)

Anyone else with me on this?

Good idea - I think I have been the ultimate "Customer from Hell". Andre and his team have been fantastic about replying but a way of posting low priority glitches/feature requests would definitely help. I'd feel I was contributing without taking away from Cognitone's development time but could still use the email support system for any major problems (which seem to have become very rare already).

Postcards from hell are always appreciated ;-) Your input was very helpful and constructive. Thanks again for that.

Cognitone uses an internal bug tracking system:

However, it has no web interface for external user input. Many suggestions and reports make it into this list, although not all of them are published on the site. This would be too distracting. We need to retain control over prioritization and the schedule in order to get along with our limited resources.

Although, if there is a simple web-based solution that we could fire up quickly for the early bird and subsequent betas, why not? Any ideas?

Yes, I think a private forum would be ok for a while, especially now that we support file uploads. I'll set one up.
