Grid 'Snap' question?

Posted

HN2 Manual Pg. 18: Grid: This setting behaves like a "snap to" grid on the mouse selection. By double-clicking on a grid, you apply it to the current selection or the entire vector (quantization).

To what exactly does "selection" refer? Selected section, instrument or instrument parameter or chord?

At every moment in HN2 many different things are selected according to the highlighted blue color scheme.

Time ruler, span selection in figure vector, chord change position, etc.

Andre ... I'm sorry, this is still not clear to me.

1. Is the 'Time Ruler' selected by dragging across it as you do to cycle play a section or sections?

2. I think I understand 'Span Selection' as using the Span tool in a specific progression, correct?

But it would only apply to the progression in the selected Section. Correct?

3.  I don't understand what is meant by "chord change position,' unless you mean the selected chord blocks in a Section Progression window. Is this what you mean?

As an after thought, it would be nice if there was some indicator that the 'double click' had indeed worked. As the value in the Grid is highlighted on a single click, there is no visual confirmation that the operation has been successful.

Technically, they are surmises, not assumptions. :)

Thank you.
