Hi Jan,
Thanks for reaching out to Native Instruments Customer Care!
I am afraid that Synfire is not an officially supported host for Native Instruments, so we are not able to guarantee funcationality here. Our developers do not use Synfire as a host software in the testing stages, so we are not able to troubleshoot this issue I am afraid.
Does Synfire have the ability to host VST3 plugin components? If so, I would try hosting Kontakt 7 with that component.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns and I will be happy to help! Thank you for your support and I hope you have a great day!
Best regards,
Packie

The issue with Kontakt 7 VST3 on Windows is a bug. The next update has it fixed.

Did the new build solve your problem?

Comes a message to install the same audio engine.
Had uninstalled the audio engine earlier.
Installed components report 4.6.0, 4.6.1.
The current engine installed is version 4.6.0
I assume the audio engine should be 4.6.1 installed?
Do., 09.11.2023 - 12:05 Permalink
Current version is 4.6.1
Make sure neither Synfire nor the engine are running when you install.
Do., 09.11.2023 - 12:44 Permalink
Removed all software and installed the version 2.3.4b5 and the error message remains that a newer audio engine 4.6.1 should be installed instead of the currently installed 4.6.0
Don't know any more now

A Windows installer can't replace files that are currently open. You must quit all of Synfire and make sure the Engine is also no longer running before you install.

Delete Queen.dll manually in C:\Program Files\Cognitone\Synfire\System

Had the same issue. I uninstalled everything again and installed the new one and now everything is updated.

This version number warning shows up when Queen.dll has a version that's different from the Engine, Scanner, Probe and Drones. Most likely this is because the SETUP program was unable to replace these components because Synfire or Engine was running.

yes, this is new to me, go install it again

Looks like it is not working again
But when i want to remove the audio engine , i do get a message: Sprike is installed on the same installation as Cognitone Audio engine
Be careful what to remove
Its audio engine 4.6.0 what is installed..

Sprike has nothing to do with Synfire.
What version has your Queen.dll? You can look it up from file information in Explorer.
Fr., 10.11.2023 - 09:23 Permalink
i see version: 4.6.1.0

Queen.dll gets installed with Synfire. This version is correct.
You need to uninstall the Audio Engine form the Windows Apps panel and reinstall the MSI that came with the latest download.

Ah wait I remember again , I also did that in the past through the MSI the installation of the audio engine
There is also so much going on that I did not come up with it now.

Yes thanks, now the audio engine is opened and the virus scanner still gave a block , but has been removed.
Kontakt 7 now seems to work again in Synfire for windows 11, nice.
Also locally I use the instruments and not only on the VEPro server.
