Synfire 1.8.4

Posted

A new update is available now. It doesn't include any new features this time, but some important changes under the hood. Audio Engine was updated to 2.6.0 with improvements and bug fixes regarding the scanning of installed plugins. We also addressed a few issues on the Mac, which we were unable to reproduce, but still hope that the changes will improve overall stability.

Before you install, please also update to version 4.0 of License Manager ((http://www.ilok.com)), run it and "Synchronize" your ilok, which will update its firmware to the latest version.

Should any issues arise, please post here - thanks.

In two hours of stress test no crashes! (Native Dialog is ON)
Fingers crossed ;-)

Thank you!

Sorry, Andre, but after some hours of seemingly stable operation, Synfire now crashes again after each Save command. I have disabled the native dialog boxes, as it was before the latest update, and crashes are gone.

Thank you anyway,

I'm currently on Synfire 1.8.3 and it works fine. Hope messing with the PACE/iLok software (and even firmware of the license dongle) when updating Synfire won't mess with the authorization of my iZotope software like another update (most probably the culprit is UVI Falcon) did by silently changing iLok drivers.

I'll delay updating Synfire mainly because I'm currently working on a project that contains iZotope plug-ins.

Is anyone else here using Synfire and iLok-protected iZotope software on the same PC on Windows?

Andre, could you please run a little test in High Sierra with Native Dialog option ON?

- create a new arrangement
- create a new separate editor (palette, phrase etc)
- do Cmd-S but click on Cancel instead of saving the new window
- does Synfire crash?

Thank you,
Roberto

Unfortunately MacOS seems to be an operating system that everytime comes out incomplete from the factory. I was also testing the trial version of Liquid Music, a software that runs on Java, but I could not use it because the menus were disabled and grayed out. Yesterday, after installing the latest High Sierra Update (10.13.1), the menus worked again. I don't know how you say in Germany, but in Italy we say more or less "it's like winning the lottery"...

Tested your suggested sequence of actions, but no crashes here, no matter how often I cancel a save dialog.

I am also using iZotope plugins with iLok activations. Works flawlessly here.
