I'd like to see some elemetary visual feedback when recording a part.. A few times I've done 'of course- the perfect take' only to discover I didn't really record it..
Could be as simple as a small window showing incoming/midi notes. or just static notes in time to rhythm played.. There pitch can be displayed after take is recorded..

And punch in/ punch out record so the recording would automatically stop after a set number of bars ... and you could punch in a measure later if needed.

Good idea.
Punch in is already there: Select the desired span before you record.

Andre ... clarify, please.
Do you mean you can punch in only when something is recorded, or do you further mean that you can also use the selected span as a starting and ending point for a new recording?
Thanks!

You can select the "armed span" before recording. All input received outside that span is ignored and the previous content is preserved.
If the armed span is a vertical line only (zero length), the entire phrase is armed beginning from that position.
If it's a range, recording is limited to that range.
