I've observed the resurgence of a resilient bug that refused to go away even after fixing it multiple times (my favorite bugs): Runaway devices.
It is being investigated right now and hopefully fixed once and for all, but in the meanwhile I wanted to give everyone a heads up to prevent unnecessary harm to your file systems.
Please check your devices browser (Audio/MIDI Setup) whether there are deeeeeeply nested folders. If so, move the devices at their bottom back to the top and delete the emptied sub-folders. It's easiest to do that at the file system level with Finder/Explorer and restart Synfire.
It looks like a new level of recursion is added each time a device is saved. If may also be that this happens only to me, due to device files still "infected" with the old bug. Just wanted to warn you as soon as possible.

Thank you for reporting. No issues here, coming from V1 to V2.

Could you explain exactly what you mean here with this ? :

note: i must look in Synfire at the audio midi setup page and open a device file if a path goes along many folders its wrong ?

Folders like this:
Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/Samplers/...
Find them in Audio/MIDI Setup under Global Device Descriptions. Right-click Show File In Finder (or Explorer).
(nothing to do with fonts. looks like an installing w/o admin rights. please post under bug reports)
