Settling In and A Violin to Die for :)

Posted

After a rocky start, Im finally settling in to Synfire. The tutorials on the web page are wonderful. Clear and well paced. I just finished the Arrangement 1 tutorial. Im beginning to feel comfortable in the GUI. I appreciate its "beauty" and design as well.

As I finished the "Pachobel" type Arrangement 1 exercise, I came across this.

For many years I have searched for a satisfactory viiolin sample. This goes beyond that. And employs a different approach then other key controlled instruments. It really took my simple learning tut to a better musical place  ;)

Thanks! Being retired on a fixed income, I have to limit myself to one violin. The performance on the Boheniam is amazing. They are releasing a Cello soon which I intend saving up my pennies for  ;)

I looked at and bought the Bohemian Violin myself. (Thank you for bringing it to my attention)

You are most welcome!

FYI, this is my last post here.

Ive found that RapidComposer and I work very nicely together. Somethings just fit and feel right.

 Happy composing everyone!

You can drop the harmony parameter (in the parameterblock) on the figure parameter slot.
Now you get the chords in the progression as a figure... add some octave doublings note in the existing figure and you get a bigger chord
Experiment with some chord containers above the figures ...and slip composing is also possible with the harmonycontainers to get a good sounding chord transition with the the underlying figure.

I am not sure if Rapid composer is adding something new to the composing process in comparison with Synfire?

RapidComposer (I call it CreativeComposer)  has a large variety of very musical generators, easy ways to switch between index and real midi notes and a more comfortable workflow for me. Its very versitile and yet extremely user friendly.

If I could find a buyer I would sell Pro for half of what I paid for it. ;)

Yes, i looked at it Rapidcomposer... it has a easier workflow and more userfriendly than Synfire now it is, but it is not that easy too.
You can doing in Rapidcomposer repeated automated composing.
Synfire is not a crappy piece of music software (made in Germany!), but is missing some userfriendlyness.

They are working at Cognitone to improve it and it could be that it has new outstanding composing features in the future
What was your main hurdle with Synfire that you were disappointed and thought with this i cannot composing ?
If i was you..i should compose for a while with rapid composer and then go back to Synfire.

If I was you I would stop trying to convince me how good software is that I clearly dont enjoy using. Dont bother responding, I am leaving this forum .
Enjoy Synfire   :)

I am not trying to convince you how good Synfire is...oh no that is not my intention.

Well, if you really don't like the software you are free to choose another software ofcourse..i thought it was possible to sell it here on the forum (ask cognitone for this), but the new owner cannot sell it anymore..only you can sell it only once

Enjoy composing with Rapidcomposer :)

I have many difficulties for my language ( Spanish ) I understood slowly with much effort because obviously it is a very steep learning curve , but I'm more than satisfied with my results in SFP . We fully support Janamdo .

You can use maybe the translate language function in browser (for windows)...then you can translate English to Spanish.

Strange enough Synfire looks rather simple if i compare it with Rapidcomposer?

Some violins can be added by this music

I am now going study the ins and out of the bowings of the violin: Cubase 8.5 with the expressionmap and the Halion Symphonic Orchestra  can be used to focus on the violin bowings
For example the violin solo and Viola solo do have 12 articulations ..all must be examined in Cubase.

Hi, are you still interested to sell your Synfire Pro for half the price? If yes, will I be authorized to use it, as if bought by Cognitone?

Buenos dias,

you could look for a converter pdf to html. The HTML you then may use for a web translator to translate. But be aware, that the translation made by machines always needs from some to a lot of work afterwards.
