Preview of figure does not respect container's existing parameters

Posted

Hi, when when previewing a library figure while having a container selected I noticed that Synfire does not respect the Rhythm or Step parameter (possibly more) of the currently highlighted container, the library item did not contain a rhythm/Step parameter of its own but oddly enough the preview did use the rhythm of the parent container which was at the time I discovered it, the root container, forcing me to either render the root container's rhythm to the figure or create a child container in which to run the preview (pictured). This is a good use case for a way to temporarily disable or pause a parameter when previewing library items and quickly see what effect something will have on an incoming library item.

Preview temporarily replaces the entire phrase in the container. Not only  figure. If you want to replace only a single parameter you need to drag the desired parameter from the library.
