Hi.
I've been waiting for 10 minutes for Synfire validating Altiverb... :-)

Possibly there's a dialog popup in the background waiting for input?
Some plugins take very long. Reaktor 6 takes several minutes here. It is always the last to complete. No idea why. Maybe they are trying to connect to some server and wait for a timeout.
Anyway, if it happens to be the very last plug-in waiting for completion, you can cancel the scan. It will continue next time you start.

No, Andre, no pop-up in background.
Perhaps I should check for any Altiverb update, since it's been a while I don't use it...

Certain VSTs hang when I start Synfire also. Is there a way to exclude or "blacklist" certain VSTs so they are not loaded?

If we had at least one plug-in that reliably hangs, we could test whether blacklisting actually works. So far however every plug-in we tested scanned fine. Might need to write one that hangs on purpose ;-)
There's a blacklist file: BannedPlugins64.txt (Mac: /Library/Application Support/Cognitone/Resources, Windows: C:\ProgramData\Cognitone\Resources).
The file BrokenPlugins64.txt remembers plugins that failed the last scan (Mac: /Users/YourName/Library/Application Support/Cognitone, Windows: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Cognitone).
One plug-in per line. Syntax of identifiers can be found in ScannedPlugins64.xml (attribute "file")

Made a new solution here

New version 2.2.3 build 6 should solve this problem for good. Plugins that take longer than three minutes are dismissed and added to the broken list. A scan should no longer be delayed longer than that.
