When importing a smf with triplets, I am not getting the results I expect.
The music is Country in 12/8 signature. I import an 8 bar SMF. I indicate the 12/8 time signature. I set the song to 12/8 time ... but the phrase imported to a new instrument ends up being about 6 1/3 bars long. If I change the song time to 4/4, the full 8 bars show up.
What is the correct way to import triplets step by step?
Why does the imported triplet phrase, that was originally 8 bars, show an incorrect length when the song time signature is set to the same signature s the original midi file and the phrase was imported with that same time signature?

There should be no difference between binary and ternary time (triplets are something different). You may need to set your song's scheme and section durations to that time signature before importing?
