Adjust Chord Preview?

Is there a way to adjust the chord preview? It's very LOUD and very LONG!

I've changed the default length in the preferences but it seems to have no effect. I can't find any way to change the volume.

Also is it possible to change the default instrument?

You can change the global instrument "Chords" to any sound you like. Also adjust its default volume.

With Playback >> Sustain Palette Chords you can change how palette chords are played.
