I made for a violins 1a combi some articulations in the articulation editor
-espressivo on F0
-legato on F#0
-tremelo on CO
Let me add a tremelo articulation on track 1 with the violins 1a combi instrument ( there is a sound tab and instrument tab --> difference? )
In HALIon5 there are colored keys depicting the key switch...now i must choose KS tremelo CO in Synfire.. i fill in all 3 articulations
Now i want to play tremelo C0 for the whole segment in track 1 ....but there is no KS pressed for the key CO, while i can see the notes pressed for the notes of the segment (figure)
How to get this keyswitch working in HALion5 ?
------------------------------------------------------
OK there is a * sign behind the KS articulation ( o it is default switch) .. it is impossible to ascertain if the keyswitch is applied ..there is no visual feedback sign in HALion5 to see ( a key pressed )
In HALion5 i can press the track for the available Keyswitches there and this i can hear a chance of keyswitched sound.
The articulation in Synfire editor is not applied.. i can hear.
Could be handy to keep the articulation window open and chance there from articulation...it possible by looping and than open this articulation window..that's good ..but still no articulated violin to hear yet ?
-------------------------------------------------------
The current key switch model assumes that a switch needs a short trigger only. This is the case with most sound libraries.
It should be possible to add an option to the articulations definition that will hold the key down for the entire duration of the segment. This is not currently the case, though.
Do you know of more sound libraries that require a permanent key press?
HALion5 requires no permanent keyswitch..once i do a short keypress on theHALion5 keyboard ..the keyswitch sound is lasting for the whole track as it seems
Why don't getHALion5 no note on/off from Synfire articulation editor? ..there is a "midi remote keyswitch module" for HALion5 to use, perhaps from there ..triggering the keyswitch notes ?

Thanks!
I did not yet ... sounds logical ...i try this ..overlooked in the manual?
How to see if the articulations is applied ?-->> the button is green..
Can i use for this the segment tool and pulling a lasso around the segme
nts -- i did -- is there a command then to assign the articulation?
When put the lasso around all segments from the phrase.. the inspector shows nothing..how to assign the articulation to the segments..or must i select individual segments and assign the articulations then ..or can i select the figure ( the parameter is selected ) and then apply the articulations ?
Is there a feedback with the assigned articulation and figure/segment ?
I am totally lost with this ..but perhaps has it to do with HAlion5 ..
Is there a video for this ..

A articulation type ( inspector) must be suported by the sound --> i do have a instrument here when i try this in the parameter tab
Violins 1 A Cobi has 10 articulatons ..why is this not suported to show up in the jumpmenu ?
I installed in HAlion5 the keyswitch remote module ..for what?
Another HALion5 users who can point me to the rigtht direction ?
It is possible to use a demo version for mac for HALion5 from the Steinberg site

Before you can use articulations you need to define them for the sound in the "Custom Articulations" window (see picture "Define_Articulations.jpg"). Once you've done that, you can apply the articulations by selecting a figure segment and then selecting the desired articulation from the menu in the figure inspector (see picture "Select Articulations").

Thanks Juergen, In the meantime i made progress by searching on the forum, but the manual is a mockery about the subject articulations ( at least worth as a bookmark in the manual ?)
Really i don't understand Cognitone by delevering this quality of information for the articulations in the manual
It is said many times by different people , but there is no progress in the manual quality .
The articulation in the manual uses a obselote pic and nothing further how to apply this articulation..crazy really.
I will study your pics.
I discovered exactly already what you have explained now, but the articulation is not lasting long
When i push the keyswitch in HALion5 and keep on doing this, then the tremelo articulation ( as example ) is hearable for the whole segment, but doing this in Synfire assigning tremelo that it is be heard in the beginning of the segement and then disappear?
I want assign the keyswitch to the whole segement ..?
Ok finally i could assign a tremelo to a segment by chosinhg hold the key until end option ..and the key is pressed down in HALion5..very nice just what i want
Took me a day because there was no information to find in the manual..crazy

Works very nice in HALion5, it is possible to see the keyswitch key at the same time pressed, when a segment selected for a articulation for classical and modern instruments.
Opens possibilities to make global racks for modern articulated instruments/sounds in HAlion5 too.

I am still trying to get articulations to work in Synfire Pro. What Juergen showed in the gif made complete sense, but i cannot seem to get it to work. I am trying to do simple articulation changes with Cinematic Strings ensemble. This plug in has key switches. I have programmed the key switches into Synfire, select the appropriate ks from the figure parameter, select the segment , but i cannot get individual segments that I select to change articulations. It should be simple, and it probably is, but I cannot get it to work! What am I doing wrong?
A short moving gif like Juergen often does could be very helpful. I must be missing some simple step! Please help!

Well, there is not so much to show, but I made a Gif. As you can see in the video, the duration of keyswitch notes is short. As Janamdo already has said, some plugins require that the keyswitch note is pressed as long as the articulation is supposed to play. In this case you must make sure that the checkbox "Sustained" in the window "Custom Articulations" is checked.
Also make sure that the keyswitch notes play in the correct octave. The note names can be different for different programs. In the video you can see that the keyswitches C1 and G1 are played. In another program (for instance Vienna Instruments), these notes may be referred to as C2 and G2.
