Audio Engine does not report back to Synfire Pro

Posted

Hi,

New user, just downloaded yesterday!  I cannot launch the 64 bit Engine (Windows 7).  I get a message to a) check the correct version of the Audio Engine is installed (don't know how to check that, but presume it's the right version as just downloaded it), b) check if my firewall allows connections to 127.0.0.1:8822 (don't know how to do that), c) quit the audio engine manually (don't know what that means as it isn't there to quit).  The 32 bit engine is there, no problems.

I had the demo version and didn't get this problem, but I uninstalled that first as I wanted a 'clean' install.

Any ideas please?

Ok, I downloaded the experimental audio engine and that one seems to work.

What I noticed when installing it is that it asked me for the path, i.e. where to install, but the other install didn't ask for that so maybe that's why?

Still don't understand why the original engine doesn't work properly though.

I've put a support request in so I'll see what come back from that.

The new experimental audio engine can handle more audioutput channels

Now i can use HALion4 and "relocated"( export to DAW) it to Cubase

It is experimental and maybe it become later default..?

There is no fundamental difference between regular and experimental engine. If a re-install fixed your problem, it may have been a simple file permissions problem caused by the installer.
