Can Inversion Settings Be Observed As Chords Change?

Posted

Hi.

Consider the 4 chords shown here in m41-m48:

While they are playing (in a loop), as they go by and I listen, I would like to observe my inversions settings (lower right) correspondingly change/update.

Is that possible?

If not, could it be?

The small inspector does not follow playback. The ones on the progression and palette pages do.

Q.  On the Palette page (as shown above), where is the key setting made in order to determine the set of chords displayed in the palette?

I ask because in the picture above, where the chord of the moment (during playback, and as-seen in the inspector) is Bbm, the Bbm chord does not appear in the palette at all.

Presumably that is because it is a C major palette.   But where is that setting made?   (I would want an F minor palette here, I think).

I see I can manually change the palette Root and Scale Set (major, minor, etc.) here:

OK, so that will let me set it how i want it.   Good!

Where though did the "default" setting come from that I was observing in the first place?

You can also simply click on a key in the circle of fifth to change the palette.

Very nice!    Thanks kindly.
