Connect to existing drone track

How do I connect a new Synfire track to an existing drone in the DAW.

I seem to only be able to connect to a brand new drone in the DAW.

On the Sounds tab, create a rack module for that Drone.

On the Arrange tab, select that rack moudle for the desired instrument.

When I try to connect to the Drone, it is greyed out, presumably because it's connected to an instrument in a different Synfire song. Is there no way to grab that drone back in a new song?

Correct.

This is tricky to simulate/reproduce. There's an option to claim ownership of a rack module (from the rack's options menu), but if I remember correctly, this is for transient modules only.

Could it be you used the same DAW project with multiple Synfire arrangements? Some other arrangement must have claimed that drone. If you re-open that file, you should at least be able to copy/paste the rack module settings into your new arrangement.
