HALion4 has chording pads..one pad gives a whole chord.. i am now working on the 12 string autostrum
Interesting to record those "pad" chords in SFP/E ..but how..is this possible?
The chords will be recorded when i press the keys on the nano2 keyboardcontroller..but the problem with this is that the chords are buildup from 5 notes..difficult to play and record the same time in SFP/E !
Easier is to use the pad in HALion4 , pushing the padbutton gives right away a beatiful chord..so i must be able to record the pad button chord..but how.
SFP/E seems to be need a keyboard for chord input, but is there a way to record chordphrases with the pad button in HALion4 ?

Thanks!
There is no articulation keyswitch on Synfire Express what i use ..or do i miss something?
Probably i can use HALion4 in Cubase 6.5 for recording ( i did not tested it yet ) by using the "pads" for chords
No, also in Cubase there is no pad recording
It is possible to use the keyboards ( forget the pads) although there are 6 note chords to play ( awesome chord sound ) ..but now i need a extra hand .. to push the record button ( i can do it with my nose :-) )
So how to record when two hands are playing a chord ?
I must use a step recording mode in SFP/E ?..but that is not possible in SFP/E ?

Hi janamdo
Does the pad button have to be held down all the time or does it toggle?
Midi learn a note for the pad button. Draw or record the note for the pad button, then use the overdub option to record the simple notes that generate the complicated chords? The problem with anything like this is synfire will be unaware what the actual chords are. To overcome this you need midi out of the synth after the pad magic has happened and feed that into synfire. Achieving that depends on your soft synth and daw.

Now it must be held down.. but i can look under the hood of HALion4 that i can toggle it (i think this is possible too)--> than i can try to record it in Synfire, because i do have both hands free ! .. i am a free man hurray.
Yes, i set the Flexphraser module on : Hold on..now is the (trigger)pad continious playing.
In cubase it works this way, that a single note can trigger a "flexphrased sound" in Cubase, but this is not working in Synfire because it works with chords for recognition.
Although in Cubase i must also record also the chord ( 6 note )for this particulair sound with a keyboard.
The Pad is only for to see what chords are interesting to use i think in HALlion 4, you must it record further by keyboard.
Yes, midi out the chords in Cubase 6.5, but feed again into SFP/E means that the original chords can be chanced by the midi recognition in SFP/E ( that can spoils the chord) .

Its getting better with HALion 4 but it it still a hassle to add chords to Synfire by hand ...
I made a sound example of strumming chords

Also a idea to improve the visiblity when adding chords by hand into SFP/E
