I think theres a bug in new version.

From time to time a track instrument like Piano gets exchanged with Synth Strings without having asked for.

Harmony inspector at same place with same look on all pages

This may not sound like a huge improvement but it really makes a difference. While I was working more frequently with Synfire during the past months, I observed that I had to think too much about where I can make a quick change to Harmony without switching the page. On the Progression page, the inspector was at the bottom with a different layout. On other pages it was on the sidebar. Some things could be done here, but not there.

Now you just select something in any Harmony view and reach to the sidebar where all aspects of Harmony can always be changed.

While surfing a Palette, the current harmony is shown on the same inspector, too (albeit some items are read-only). The harmony can be altered as needed and then dragged to the progression.

Same for a running playback (all read-only, of course).

And the Harmonizer.

Is it an internal instrument (soundcase?) or a plugin?, I've been recently been coming up against a possibly similar issue where the preset for a vst kept reverting back to it's first preset, eventually I figured that the problem was the device description > Programs > sound properties > Program. My mistake is that I don't like to set up most vsts with their programs as with some of them (i.e. dexed) I'm still working out a preset list from a huge library of files downloaded from the internet, (aside from lazyness) . What I do is just set up 1 channel and preset in the device description and change as the arrangement requires, which I have recently found out is a mistake. I set the program to "None" and that seems to have alleviated the issue so far.

I'm still learning this area of synfire but will invest a little more time figuring out the device descriptions and variants etc.

A patch is online that fixes issues with the harmony inspector and dropping phrases on the snippets grid.

Is this where I should find that?
