Tempo ist restricted now up to 300 bpm.
In jazz tempos above that are nothing special, sometimes/seldom even above 400.
I see no reason, why a professional tool should restrict its possibility in that aera, if something is too fast, one can make it slower :D .
Band in a Box, specialised in jazz and pop playbacks, also allows up to 500 bpm.
So this is my suggestion for SF also.

Hm. I would rather think 400 bpm = 2 * 200 bpm. It is probably impossible to play a 16th note at 400 bpm.
I have no concerns setting the tempo maximum to 500, but that will narrow the slider scale and make it increasingly difficult to adjust tempo with the mouse.

Well, I think, those players including me are quite content, when they get some series of good eights :-D . And the bass is playing half notes. -
Maybee You could add a little expert mode?
Normaly up to 300, which is good for most situations, and up to 500 for very special and seldom, but existing situations.
In prinzip ist possible to stretch the figure to double tempo, but in praxis, when you applied shifts, rhythm, step and so on, its is much more confusing than a little narrowing of the slider scala in the expert modus.
