Visually, I find it less-than-obvious to tell when many of the Synfire toggle icons are on or off.
IMO, these states should be totally obvious!
The only change currently between on and off is a slight lightening or darkening of the icon's background.
I suggest both
a) a more profound change in the background, along with
b) an optional color change in the icon picture (instead of remaining white)
Ideally, the non-white icon color would be user selectable. There should be a good default color choice, of course, but no one should be left out. IOW, if an individual has a perceptual issue with the default color, they should be able to change it to get relief.
