What was the name of the command?

I have created an interesint instrupart, the notes, are linear, but i have used 24 bar loops of 'step'  and a 15 bar loop of "mute'.. I have interpretation going and also morphing and variation.

I would like to make this permanent.. because of the step and mute commands, it's hard to predect where and what the track is doing, thus it becomes hard to overdub another instrument into the mix..

I remember reading of the solution, but can't remember or find it...
