Has something to do with security ?

Found a support case with a similar problem. There is possibly an old MSI of Synfire set aside somewhere by Windows that makes the installer think the Engine is already installed.
You need to uninstall and reinstall Synfire.
Make a full backup first just in case.
Use the Apps control panel of Windows settings to remove both Synfire and Audio Engine.
Remove:
C:\Program Files\Cognitone\Synfire
C:\Program Files\Cognitone\Audio
C:\ProgramData\Cognitone\Setup (may be hidden)
Install Synfre again

This seems to happen only to a few long time users that have installed many updates already.
Check C:\Users\(USERNAME)\AppData\Roaming\Cognitone and sub directories for any old MSI files that may be lingering there and delete them.

Yes, not wanting to install Synfie fixed today , and happened to be found quickly via microsoft support with this little tool
Another question : I don't see the examples of Synfire arrangements ?
