Unless I'm mistaken, Synfire automatically loads up the Global Rack that you were working on when you last closed Synfire.
What if I had a huge orchestral Global Rack that takes (say) 10 minutes to load (as I intend doing shortly)? The next time I start Synfire I might only need a GM Rack for some quick ideas/sketches but I have to wait for the huge rack to load.
Could there be a settings option to 'Automatically load previous rack'?
If ticked, it would work as currently.
If not ticked you would get a list of all your racks and you could choose which one you wanted to load at startup.

Good suggestion. I just dealt with the same question while working on an orchestral example. Took 6 minutes to load on startup, even on a Mac Pro.
As a workaround, I now switch to a small rack before closing Synfire.
And eventually I will put all sounds on a SSD.
