I'm still vague on all the aspects of render.
1. If I perform some parameter changes on a figure, they are not really there.. They will be 'rendered' in real-time as song is played. I.E. I have a lot of 'step' functions. I will not see the effect of this in the arrangement disply on the figures, only if I go to the STEPS window.
2. Consider I have made a number of parameter changes, and I really like how it sounds. Can I 'render' this to become the 'take' or the new figure'
3. The 'take' is the orginal midi data, either recorded or imported. The take is like a 'safety' feature. I can go back to the original if I mess the figure up too much.. Can I exchange or make the the figure become the 'take' (as mentioned above).
I still somtimes get confused cause SFP does not act the way i expect. I need to remind myself to look at each of the parameters and see what changes I have made.
thanx

In a way Synfire is a phrase synthesizer and effects processor, controlled by the various parameters.
Try Parameter >> Extract From Output on the Take parameter. You may need to delete the parameters that transformed your figure, or you will see them applied once again after this.
The Take is by far NOT a safety feature. It is a srcatch pad, frequently replaced by the most recent recording (hence the name).
