You would run HN2 as a standalone app to build your chord progressions and instrumental tracks, then drag & drop those to the DAW's tracks (be sure to tap the spacebar once in order to release the object over the DAW before releasing the mouse button (not really intuitive - we're working to improve it).
If you want to play instruments hosted in the DAW, you'll need to setup a loopback driver to send HN2 MIDI to the DAW. Here's how to do that: (http://users.cognitone.com/tutorials/setup-0)
BTW: New videos are currently in the making especially for HN2.
