Can anyone tell me if U &I softwares Metasynth 5 will integrate with Synfire Pro? If so, do you know if their Artmatic 5 and Artmatic Voyager will also work with Synfire Pro.? Not sure if Artmatic will work directly as it is a visual arts software, but since it does interface directly with Metasynth I thought someone might know on this forum Thank you very much! I love Synfire Pro!

- Multi-"room" sound design and manipulation
- Onboard effects
- Non-MIDI sequencer
- Full 24-track mixing environment
Non-MIDI is the keyword here... I looked at a few sights, none mention midi

Hi richardbarlett
Well … I dont know how Artmatic oder Metasynth ever could work anyhow whith Synfire: what I do is a workaround with Melodyne in between.
My steps:
evtl. 1) Artmatic: (visual)
2) Metasynth: (visual) -> Audio
3) Melodyne; Audio -> midi
4) Synfire: midi -> music ;-)
Remarks:
- You will need a polyphonic working vesion of Melodyne (because of the harmonices of the sound generated in Metasynth): not cheap.
- Keep the Audio as simple as possible. You will lose a lot of information passing audio to midi.
btw: I can't make any new displacement-maps in Metasynth. Just can use the default ones. I Think it's a bug, but I've never got an answer from uisoftware. Do you have the same problems …?
best,
Michael

Another way to get metasynth recognize midipatterns is recording the midifiles with pure sinewaves. This way the image synth will have a clean input, resulting in more accurate notes.
About the displacementmap thing, you have to select new displacement maps with alt or ctrl ( can't remember which). You can use any filter preset you like, thus make your own. There's a menu where it says open displacement map.
