Hi,
Current workflow:
1. Create MIDI part in sequencer
2. Export MIDI part from seq
3. Load phrase into the Instrument in HN2 (don't forget the mess with the file open dialog :S )
I don't know how the sequencers expose the dragged content, but if the MIDI parts could be dragged onto the Instruments, that would be awesome!
Some VSTis offers this feature, I mean dragging in/out MIDI content into/from the arrangement of the sequencer.
I know the situation differs a bit, but who knows, maybe it's not difficult to handle the drag operation, than examine the content which should be handled, and if it's MIDI data, just the "Load phrase" function should be called, voila. :)))
How possible is it?
Thanks,
Attila
PS.: just started using version 2 Pro, very useful, thanks fot it!

Hi Attila,
drag and drop works with files, but not immediately between two separate applications, if I didn't miss something. At any rate, we have this topic on our agenda. We also feel the import/export workflow is not optimal.
Some VSTis offers this feature, I mean dragging in/out MIDI content into/from the arrangement of the sequencer.
That's great to know. Do you know which VSTi exactly? I would like to have a look at them to learn how it can be done.

Well, the Stylus operation works also under Cubase, just like dragging MIDI from Addictive Drums to the arrangement window.
I think it must be a function which is offered for the hosted VST plugins.
And this is what I'm afraid of, I mean HN2 is not a hosted plugin, so I don't know if it's possible to drag between apps.
I hope so.

Stylus is AU/VST/RTAS compatible. It is a very nice feature. Speeds up the workflow. Real Guitar will export to desktop, then you can drag into your DAW. Real Guitar will also output it's strumming rhythm as MIDI data, (to drive another MIDI instrument). But this is only available in the VST format. Doesn't work for AU.

Band In A Box, an autoaccompaniment program with a proprietary type of midi file within the program, permits drag and drop of midi files on a track by track basis to any windows explorer window ... which can then be drag and dropped into any DAW. The drag and drop export function has options to include or not gm patch, controllers, etc.
