Pause play and continue from place paused in the time line?

Posted

I thought if you hit pause in the transport and then hit the play key, the playing would continue from where you paused. I am getting a reset to the beginning whether I hit pause 2Xs or hit pause 1X and play 1X.

How are you supposed to interrupt play, but then continue from where you stopped without returning to the beginning?

Press Pause again to continue after Pause (or Shift + Spacebar).

Play always starts from the last active position, which depends on the selected container, figure, chord, etc. It is optimized to provide the most intuitive preview response during editing.

Would it make a difference if I paused inside of a looped section of the time line? In otherwords, in that situation, does it reply the loop insteaed of continuing from where I paused?

I cannot recheck now, but I am positive I did as you direct, i.e., hit pause once to stop and again to start at the same position (I did see the orange triangel marker where I thought it should be on pause).

Now that I am sure about how it is supposed to work I will follow your instruction.

Thank you.
