Piano Mystique - music composed in Synfire from a single short phrase

Posted

This piano loop consists of a single short phrase with slightly different lengths for Figure, Velocity, Step and Harmony so things won't repeat. The music was set to loop in a 64 bar container and rendered as a loop in Live using TruePianos as an instrument.

There's indeed lots of ways music can be laid out and it surely evokes different emotions in every listeners.

Still it's amazing after all, what Synfire is capable of creating, just using one main element.

You claim that here is no repetition and at the same time it is relaxed the music.. but can this go together?

Good test, HiEnergy.

Good overall colour but to my taste it suffers a bit too much discontinuity in rhythm: sounds a little aleatoric (or algoritmic), fully computer-generated composition

But it's not fairplay, this was not written in Synfire! :D

(Or did it?)

It was not written in Synfire..it is made by a skilled piano musician..i suppose

But probably if you take your time you can come up with a derative of the original piano song: spring  in Synfire

It was only a showcase of how relaxation works. (because @HiEnergy claimed his song was for relaxation :))

To come up with a own piano arrangement as not skilled piano player for that you must study careful all characteristics of that song

I do have a lot of midi songs ..all new age and with different moods, interesting to pick one and try to come up with a own song, but it is laborious.

Rhythm is probably more complex than harmony. Sort of genetic code. We are doing some research currently on how to best support working with rhythm in Synfire. It's exciting stuff.
