Using different parameter settings..

Posted

Do the parameter processes always affect the whole insturment in that one container?

So if I have a 4 bar phrase but, I want to process just the end notes, with a different inperpretation.. I have to divide that container with the instrument I want to work on?  Is that right?

For a few special parameters, yes. Interpretation, Morphing and Scheme.

Instead of splitting your container, you should add a child container and put ONLY Interpretation a parameter in there, if you want to change it anywhere inside the parent container. This way you can change settings temporarily for any span of time.

Another 'light goes on.' I've been thinking of the secondary containers as places to change the phrase figure of an instrument. Now I see the whole range of subtle variation by parameter manipulation is available.

Brilliant!

Yeah I kinda had a lightbulb moment too....  Did anyone here watch Startrek Deep Space Nine? When Cisco would go into a vision and see the Bejoran Gods living in the wormhole..  That would take pity on him and scratch their heads, saying 'but he is linear'

It takes a while for one to wrap their brain around containers with only parameter changes.  and different parameters having different loop lengths.. It does become overwhelming...

Well if we all work hard for several years, we'll catch up with Andre... But he'll have gone beyond the new frontier....

(and we're getting a front row seat ...YES !(
